Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and is located in an area that lies between three provinces: Brescia, Verona and Trento.
Its particularly mild climate favours the growth of Mediterranean plants such as olive or citrus trees and makes it a popular holiday destination. In actual fact, the lake and the surrounding area boast a rich variety of interesting historical and artistic sites from different periods. For example, the Roman remains of the “Grotte di Catullo”, some of the greatest examples of private buildings in northern Italy and Desenzano’s Roman villa with its colourful mosaics; not to mention the ancient churches and amazing noble palazzos which design and characterise the towns and villages overlooking the lake, such as Salò or Gardone Riviera.
