A blue eyelet nestled between green mountains, Iseo enchants us with its intense colours, picturesque landscapes and the small villages encircling its shores. This glacial lake has three islands, one of which is Montisola, the largest inhabited lake island in Europe, and on top of which lies the Sanctuary of Ceriola. The lake shore offers many gems for the tourist, such as Iseo with its old town centre and medieval Oldofredi castle, the charming church of Santa Maria del Mercato and the church of Sant’Andrea. There is also the town of Pisogne with its historical harbour centre and the church of Santa Maria della Neve with its renaissance paintings by Romanino. For the nature-loving tourist there is the park in Zone which is famous for its pyramids, large rock pillar formations created by erosion.
